What We Planned:

Me and Gabe planned to make a peace sign ornament for the garden as our ESLP. But this wasn't just any other garden decoration. We melted the casings of fired bullets to mold into the figure to be a memorial for gun violence, much like those that happened recently. Our project was pretty successful.

Timeline:

March 20, 2018, Gabe suggests the idea for the project and we agree on the build.

March 22, 2018, Gabe proposes the idea to Mr. Bursch, we get the OK.

March 23, 2018, we meet after school and make final plans for the project, we agree to work the next day.

March 24, 2018, I meet Gabe at his house and we begin to construct the first half of the crucible.

March 25, 2018, I meet Gabe at his house again and we make the lid of the forge.

March 26, 2018, we get an extension from Mr. Bursch and Gabe uses hotwire to carve the foam and he saws a canister in half for us to use for the crucible.

March 27, 2018, the lid of the forge failed, so Gabe built another one. Then he started it up, but since the brass didn't melt, we used aluminum. Then he poured the aluminum onto a foam cast and we got our finished product.
